Memories
I am very honored to get this recognition! I do have some very fond memories of things that happened at RUHS, besides meeting Herb there. For instance, Mr. Brubaker was so upset that I could not smell the mixture that smelled like rotten eggs, (an acid mixture, I believe) but my sense of smell just wasn’t good! I also taught others algebra, including Herb, but only on the condition that they memorize Mrs. Hopkins’ rules first. I know what a frustration Herb and I were to Miss Neff, who felt that we were setting a bad example for the Bible Club by walking arm-in-arm from class to class, and of course, Herb in his usual egotistical way replied, “What better example of brotherly love.” I found it an honor to work on the Pilot with Mr. Irwin, but I can’t remember that I did that much to help.
